Most important things to keep in mind when buying a desktop monitor

For most of the people upgrading a computer or laptop means upgrading RAM, upgrading graphics cards, or installing an SSD. No doubt that these are very important upgrades.  But no one thinks of an upgraded monitor that way. Many times a monitor that is compatible and updated with your work is also able to change the quality and standard of your work.

Whether you're a programmer, graphics designer, or gamer, or just a TV-series or movie-goer, a suitable monitor will give you a lot more convenience and comfort.

Things to keep in mind when buying a desktop monitor-

Monitor type - IPS or TN panel:

A TN panel monitor is very good for playing games. Its refresh rate is much higher, and for those who take gaming very seriously, it is the only choice. However, it does not render as beautiful a picture as an IPS monitor, and the viewing angle is not as wide. When you buy an IPS monitor, you will see beautiful pictures, and it will be great for people to watch a series or a movie together in such a panel. Even those who play primarily visually appealing games, such as Red Dead Redemption 2, or Skyrim, prefer IPS over the TN panel to enjoy the beauty of the game. That means if you don't do very serious competitive gaming, we don't see any point in taking the TN panel. Graphic designers all use IPS displays.

Port type and number:

Now the HDMI port is everywhere. So make sure your monitor has an HDMI port. And if you buy a new monitor on an old desktop, then you have to buy a monitor with VGA port if your output is VGA. Notice that many new high-end laptops are now offering Thunderbolt ports. In general, buy a monitor with the output of your laptop, desktop, or gaming console in mind.

Monitor resolution:

Now 1920-1080 resolution monitors are the most popular. However, the better the resolution, the better the experience of watching your video games. If your GPU can't render 4K video, you won't be able to play games with 4K monitors, but modern motherboards, CPUs, or 4K videos from streaming services play quite well. It also depends on your budget. The higher you go, the better. And if you're a graphic designer, you'll need a better resolution monitor.

Monitor size:

This is also a matter of your budget and requirements. The bigger you take, the more you will find peace. But there's a caveat: if the resolution is 1080, then there's no point in having a monitor larger than 23 inches. If it is 4K, a bigger monitor can be taken. Many people also now buy curved monitors.

Brands and Services:

Companies that are well-known in this country, have a reputation for good service, and have a lot of service centers in our country, it is better to buy products from them. Such as Dell, Samsung, LG. However, the current monitor does not spoil quickly.

Eye Care:

The use of modern technology on current monitors reduces eye strain. Even then, some companies put extra emphasis on eye care, and offer some features. Take note of them. However, you can also turn on the blue light filter, etc., using different software.

Refresh rate:

The higher the refresh rate of the monitor, the clearer the picture. In the case of gaming monitors measured in hertz units, the number should be at least 75Hz. However, hard core gamers need to have a refresh rate of at least 144 Hz. For general users, it is better not to have a refresh rate below 60Hz.

Curve or flat:

Users want curved or flat monitors in terms of their requirements. Curve monitors are more effective for heavy work and gaming and flat monitors are sufficient for normal work.

Response time:

The lower the response time rate, the higher the monitor speed. The less time it takes for each pixel to turn black and white, the longer its response time. The fastest monitor's response time is 1 millisecond.
