Things to look out for building a video editing PC

If you wish to build a video editing PC, then few requirements need to be filled. But, first of all, you have to build a good PC. Now, this good PC resembles a PC that performs well precisely. Although, you don't need to buy a high level machine to edit a video, unless you are editing a big action movie VFX.

Here are some things to keep in mind when it comes to making a good PC for video editing:

First you have to fix the budget. Since it is a professional quality computer, then your budget should be a little better.

Processor can be either Intel or AMD. If you take Intel, you will not get Core i5 8th/9th gen level performance in Core i3 8th/9th gen. However, the processor plays a very important role in video editing, so a good processor will give a lot of benefits in the work of editing. The higher the processor's core and thread, the faster the rendering will be and the less time you will have to work.

Try to avoid the air cooler that is provided with the processor. Rely on a good quality air cooler or water cooler. However, we would recommend installing a liquid cooler because the CPU is too hot to do rendering and other work. This will keep your CPU colder.

The better the graphics card, the better you will get the performances. To get better performance you can go for an Nvidia graphics card because Nvidia has CUDA processor which will speed up your 3d ray tracing rendering. So spend a little more on graphics cards.

You must have a minimum of 8GB RAM for initial editing. It is very good to have Heatsink in RAM. But to get high performances, it is better to install 32 GB, but if the budget is less then go for 16 GB.

For the motherboard you will see the model of your processor socket and select the motherboard accordingly. For video editing, check the overclockable motherboard and need at least 4 RAM slots. Take a look at sound quality and heatsink before buying.

Now coming to the hard disk. You should go for at least 2 terabytes of hard disk which will give you more space. An SSD is storage like a hard disk but faster than it. It will make your PC much faster and work faster also. Other work including rendering of your video editing will be done very soon through thIS SSD. So, obviously you should install a good SSD.

For casing you can take a slightly larger gaming casing because the size of your motherboard will be bigger and the size of your graphics card will be bigger. And keep an eye on the air input output fan in the casing.

If you can fulfil all the above requirements then surely a good video editing PC will be made for you. However, using high range products according to the needs of the users, better and more powerful video editing PCs can be made.
