Generation
Generation refers to the age version of the processor. The newer generation of laptops is more developed, has more features, and is more power-efficient than the older ones.
Processor cores are individual processing units within the computer's central processing unit (CPU). A CPU with two processing cores is called a dual-core CPU and models with four cores are called quad-core CPUs. High-end CPUs may have six (hexa-core) or even eight (octo-core) processors.
The threads of a computer program allowing the program to execute sequential actions or many actions at once. Each thread in a program identifies a process that runs when the program asks it to. A single CPU core can have up to 2 threads per core.
For example, if a CPU is dual core (2 cores) it will have 4 threads. And if a CPU is Octal core (8 core) it will have 16 threads and vice-versa.
This refers to the socket model that the CPU is compatible with. CPU with LGA1200 socket supports means it will be compatible with the mother board with the same LGA1200 socket.
