What is CMOS?

CMOS, or complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor, is a type of technology used in the construction of integrated circuits and image sensors.

CMOS technology uses a combination of p-type and n-type transistors to create logic gates, which are the building blocks of digital circuits. CMOS circuits consume less power than other types of circuits and are widely used in digital electronics, such as microprocessors, memory chips, and image sensors. CMOS image sensors are commonly used in digital cameras and camera phones, as they offer high-quality image capture with low power consumption. They use an array of photodiodes to capture incoming light and convert it into an electrical signal, which is then processed and converted into a digital image.
