DORI Distance

What is DORI Distance?

DORI distance is a term used in surveillance camera systems to estimate the expected clarity and quality of the captured footage.

DORI stands for "Detection, Observation, Recognition, and Identification," and it is used to measure the distance at which a camera can detect, observe, recognize, or identify a specific object or person. The DORI distance is typically determined by the camera's resolution, lens size, and image sensor, as well as the lighting conditions and the target's size and movement. In general, the higher the camera's DORI distance, the better its performance in capturing clear and detailed images over longer distances.
