ECC Support

What is ECC Support?

ECC (Error-Correcting Code) is a feature that is available on both SSDs (Solid State Drives) and HDDs (Hard Disk Drives) that helps to detect and correct errors that may occur when reading or writing data to the drive.

ECC works by adding extra bits of data to each block of data that is stored on the drive. These extra bits are used to detect and correct errors that may occur due to factors such as data corruption or physical damage to the drive. ECC support is an important feature to look for when purchasing a new storage device, particularly for applications that require high levels of data integrity and reliability, such as servers or data centers. However, it is important to note that ECC support may not be necessary for all applications, and may also come at a higher cost compared to non-ECC drives.
