FPS

What is FPS?

FPS (Frames Per Second) is a metric used to measure the performance of graphics and video display devices, such as computer monitors, televisions, and gaming consoles.

It refers to the number of frames, or still images, that are displayed on the screen per second. The higher the FPS, the smoother and more fluid the motion on the screen appears to the viewer. For example, a video or game running at 60 FPS will appear much smoother and more natural than one running at 30 FPS. FPS can be affected by a variety of factors, including the processing power of the device, the complexity of the graphics being displayed, and the settings of the game or video being played. It is often used as a benchmark for performance in gaming and video applications, where high FPS is desirable for a better user experience. Overall, FPS is an important metric for measuring the performance of graphics and video display devices, and is a key consideration for gamers, video editors, and other users who require smooth, high-quality motion on their screens.
