What is IC Configuration?

The term "IC configuration" usually refers to the organization of memory cells within an integrated circuit (IC), which is the fundamental building block of a RAM (Random Access Memory) chip.

The IC configuration of a RAM chip determines how the memory cells are arranged and accessed. For example, the most common IC configuration for DRAM (Dynamic RAM) is the "one-transistor, one-capacitor" (1T1C) configuration, where each memory cell consists of one transistor and one capacitor. The IC configuration for SRAM (Static RAM) is typically a "six-transistor" (6T) configuration, where each memory cell consists of six transistors.
