Mini USB

What is Mini USB?

Mini USB is a smaller version of the standard USB (Universal Serial Bus) interface that is commonly used for connecting various electronic devices to a computer or other host device.

Mini USB has a smaller form factor than standard USB and features a 5-pin connector. It was first introduced in the early 2000s as a replacement for the larger USB connectors that were commonly used at the time. Mini USB was widely used in a variety of devices, including cameras, MP3 players, and smartphones. However, it has since been largely replaced by Micro USB and USB Type-C connectors, which offer even smaller form factors and improved features. Overall, Mini USB is a reliable and widely-used connector that played an important role in the evolution of USB technology. However, it has largely been supplanted by newer, smaller, and more versatile connectors that offer improved functionality and compatibility.
