What is Mirrorless?

Mirrorless cameras are a type of digital camera that do not use a mirror and prism system to reflect light into an optical viewfinder.

Instead, they use an electronic viewfinder (EVF) or the camera's LCD screen to display a digital image of the scene being photographed. Mirrorless cameras are known for their smaller size and lighter weight compared to DSLRs, as they do not require the bulky mirror and prism mechanism. They also offer fast autofocus performance, high-quality image sensors, and advanced controls similar to DSLRs, making them a popular choice among professional and advanced amateur photographers. Mirrorless cameras may have fewer lenses available compared to DSLRs, but many manufacturers are expanding their lens lineups to offer a wide range of options. Some mirrorless cameras also offer features such as in-body image stabilization and silent shooting, which may not be available on all DSLRs.
