PAL/NTSC

What is PAL/NTSC?

PAL and NTSC are two different television broadcasting standards used around the world.

PAL stands for Phase Alternating Line, and NTSC stands for National Television System Committee. The two standards differ in various technical aspects, including resolution, frame rate, and color encoding. PAL has a higher resolution and a slower frame rate compared to NTSC, while NTSC has a wider color gamut. PAL is used in most countries in Europe, Australia, and some parts of Asia and Africa, while NTSC is used in the United States, Canada, Japan, and some other countries in South America and Asia. Some modern video equipment can support both standards, while others are designed specifically for one or the other.
