What is Transfer Key?

A Transfer Key is a feature found on telephones and phone systems that allows the user to transfer a call to another phone or extension.

When a call is in progress, the user can press the Transfer Key, which puts the caller on hold and opens a new line to dial the number or extension where the call is to be transferred. Once the call is connected, the user can then announce the caller and transfer the call by pressing the Transfer Key again or hanging up, depending on the phone system.
