UHS Speed Class

What is UHS Speed Class?

UHS Speed Class is a speed class designed for SD cards with faster data transfer rates than standard speed cards.

There are currently two UHS Speed Classes for SD cards: UHS Speed Class 1 (U1) and UHS Speed Class 3 (U3). UHS Speed Class 1 (U1) supports a minimum sustained write speed of 10 MB/s, while UHS Speed Class 3 (U3) supports a minimum sustained write speed of 30 MB/s. UHS Speed Classes are important to consider when using SD cards for high-speed applications such as recording 4K videos or continuous burst photography. It's worth noting that UHS Speed Classes are only applicable to SD cards that support the UHS bus interface. If an SD card doesn't support the UHS bus interface, it will use the standard speed classes (Class 2, 4, 6, or 10) to indicate its minimum sustained write speed.
