What is WEP?

WEP is a security protocol used for wireless networks that was developed in the late 1990s.

It provides encryption and confidentiality of data transmitted over the network by using a shared key encryption system. However, WEP is vulnerable to certain types of attacks and is no longer considered a secure protocol, having been replaced by newer security protocols like WPA and WPA2.
