What is RFID Card?

RFID stands for Radio Frequency Identification. An RFID card is a type of contactless card that uses radio waves to communicate with a reader device.

The card contains a small microchip and an antenna that transmits data to the reader when the card is held within a certain distance. RFID cards are commonly used for access control, payment systems, and identification purposes. For example, they may be used as key cards to access a building, or as payment cards for public transportation systems. Some credit cards and passports also use RFID technology to store and transmit personal information. RFID cards have some advantages over traditional magnetic stripe cards, such as faster read times and the ability to read multiple cards at once.
