What is WAN Port?

A WAN port, short for Wide Area Network port, is a networking port on a device, such as a router, that is designed to connect to a wide area network (WAN).

The WAN port is typically used to connect the device to the internet or to a larger network, such as a corporate network. The WAN port is usually labeled and can be distinguished from other ports by its location, often located separately from other LAN ports.
