RJ11

What is RJ11?

RJ11 is a type of registered jack used primarily in telephone systems.

It is a four or six-position connector with two to four conductors, used to connect a telephone line to a telephone or other telecommunications device. RJ11 connectors are typically smaller than other types of registered jacks, such as the RJ45 connector used for Ethernet networking. They are also often referred to as "modular connectors" because they can be easily snapped into place on a modular jack or wall plate. In addition to their use in telephone systems, RJ11 connectors can also be used in other low-speed data communication applications, such as alarm systems and some types of home automation systems. However, they are not suitable for high-speed data communication, as they are limited in terms of the amount of data they can transmit.
