Volt Ampere of UPS

What is Volt Ampere of UPS?

The Volt-Ampere (VA) rating of an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) is a measure of its capacity to supply power to connected devices.

It is the product of the voltage and the maximum current that the UPS can deliver. For example, a UPS with a VA rating of 1000VA can supply a maximum power of 1000W at a voltage of 1V or 500W at a voltage of 2V. However, it's important to note that the VA rating is not the same as the Watt (W) rating, which measures the actual power that the UPS can deliver. In general, the VA rating is higher than the Watt rating, as the Watt rating takes into account the power factor of the devices being powered. Therefore, when selecting a UPS, it's important to consider both the VA rating and the Watt rating to ensure that it can provide sufficient power to your connected devices.
