What is Router?

A router is a device that forwards data packets between computer networks. It is typically used to connect devices within a local area network (LAN) to a wide area network (WAN) such as the internet. Routers use routing tables to determine the best path for forwarding data packets to their destination. They can also perform network address translation (NAT) to allow multiple devices to share a single public IP address. Additionally, routers often include features such as firewalls, virtual private network (VPN) support, and Quality of Service (QoS) controls to manage network traffic.
