Shutter Speed

What is Shutter Speed?

Shutter speed refers to the amount of time that the camera's shutter remains open, allowing light to reach the camera sensor and creating an exposure.

It is measured in seconds or fractions of a second, such as 1/1000 or 1/30 of a second. A faster shutter speed allows less light to reach the sensor, resulting in a shorter exposure time and less motion blur. A slower shutter speed allows more light to reach the sensor, resulting in a longer exposure time and more motion blur. Shutter speed is an important aspect of photography and can be used creatively to capture different effects, such as freezing motion or creating motion blur. It is often used in combination with aperture and ISO to control the exposure of an image.
